City

The district town Delitzsch lies about 15km north from Leipzig in the Free State of Saxony and has 26 000 habitants. On a walk you will be enthusiastic for the mediaeval air of the Old Town of Delitzsch, which was built in the 14th and 15th century. During a stroll around the Old Town you will see numerous old buildings, a castle from the 14th century, where there is a museum located today. A rarity is the well-preserved weir system, which goes around the Old Town as a 1,4 km long guard ring.

Always an experience for our little guests is the visit of the zoo in Delitzsch. Famous sons of our city are Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch, founder of the cooperative system and the people's bank and Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg, discoverer of the neurocyte.
